Bevelite has been one of the biggest investors in processing machinery in the local market for over a decade. We are proud to boast a factory equipped with the latest in high quality European machines. Part of the secret to our market leading quality and service is the depth of our investment and the way we use and maintain these machines.
Cutting
Glass is purchased in large stack sheets and cut to size before further processing.
Straight Line Polishing
Processing and smoothing the raw glass product so it is suitable for fitting
Bevelling
Processing edges of a piece of glass to angle. This process is commonly used on Mirrors.
WaterJet
A glass cutting technique that allows 'shapes' to be cut from the sheet without stress on the glass, chips or cracks to leave a smooth finish. Typically used for custom glass applications such as splashbacks
CNC
Computerised numerical controlled (CNC) machines are used for complex shapes requiring a polished edge finish superior to a WaterJet finish, typically where edges will be exposed. Commonly used for shower screens and balustrades and table tops.
Drilling
Drilling creates holes in the glass suitable for the application of fixings (eg, shower screen hinges or balustrade spigots)
Furnace
Furnaces are used to toughen glass after it has been cut and processed. The glass is heated to 700°C and then 'quenched' by rapidly cooling to ambient temperature. This makes it 4-5 times stronger and when broken it shatters into small fragments.
Custom Laminating
Bevelite has a state of the art custom laminating factory. This includes a climate controlled 'clean room', nip line, gas furnace and autoclave. Laminating is a complex process and we have invested heavily in quality to ensure we produce the premium product our customers expect.
Heat Soak
Facades often require glass to be heat soaked for hours after toughening at 300°C to reduce the risk of nickel solfide inclusions causing spontaneous failure in service.
Double Glazing Lines
Through the Australian Glass Group, Bevelite has access to 4 double glazing lines with robotic sealing and argon.
Computer Systems
We are very proud of our superb 'on time delivery' record and this is largely driven by our investment in leading IT systems developed for the glass industry. Orders are entered into the system and scanned after every process so we always know where your order is in our factory.
